My career progression has been fuelled by a strong personal motivation and a deep passion for sales. I had a hunger to succeed. I was drawn to industries where I could learn as I went along and where my efforts directly translated into financial success.

My journey at LBB is a testament to what is possible when personal drive meets a supportive and dynamic work environment. At LBB, I was never capped on what I could work on, which allowed me to tackle diverse and challenging projects right from the start. I sought out larger projects that others might have avoided, which accelerated my learning and professional development.

My commitment to delivering results has always been driven by a desire not just for personal success, but also to see LBB become the best in the industry. In my new role as Sales Director, I’m excited to lead and inspire our new talent at LBB, building a team that excels individually and collectively. I’m also still very much client-facing, focused on expanding our client base, enhancing our Major Projects service offerings and solidifying LBB’s position as a market leader in latent defects insurance (LDI).

LBB’s fantastic management has been instrumental in my growth, offering both the freedom to explore and the training and expertise to excel. I’ve been fortunate to have several mentors throughout my career, both at LBB and in previous roles, who provided invaluable insights and guidance. Learning from them allowed me to gain deep industry knowledge and experience in managing teams effectively.

The contrasting management styles I’ve encountered have shaped my approach today. While my mentors fostered independence and growth by giving me space to take on diverse projects, I also learned the drawbacks of micro-management. These experiences have reinforced the importance of allowing team members the freedom to learn and grow, focusing on what motivates them and providing opportunities for success without excessive oversight.

For example, many of our team members are pursuing qualifications in insurance, fully funded by LBB. Personally, I get a lot of satisfaction from seeing new team members grow. Over the years, I’ve been involved in recruiting and training several groups of new starters, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see them develop into successful brokers. My goal is to continue building teams that not only excel individually but also contribute to the overall success of LBB.
