LBB has been named winner of the Combatting Underinsurance Award at the UK Broker Awards, presented at a ceremony at the NEC in Birmingham on 8 October.
Held as part of UK Broker Week, the awards celebrate excellence across insurance broking in 29 categories, so being recognised in this one is a proud moment for the whole team.
The win also recognises a message LBB has been pushing all year: that limits capped well below the cost of rebuilding leave developers and homeowners exposed, and that the long-standing system behind them is no longer suitable and needs to change.
It has not always been the easy message to deliver. A lower premium is persuasive at quote stage, and a shortfall in cover only becomes visible when a claim lands, by which point it is too late to fix. This award tells us the argument is landing: that limits should be tied to the real cost of rebuilding, that cover should keep pace with a project over its full life, and that the question should be asked at the start rather than when a deal is on the line. We are proud to have helped move that conversation forward, and there is more to do.
