Latent Defects Insurance

LBB helps regional developer secure warranty cover for £50M project

At London Belgravia Brokers, we see our role as an independent advisor, who reviews the merits of each project to help you make well-informed decisions when it comes to identifying and selecting an insurance partner.

With over 40 years of combined experience, our clients benefit from our breadth of relationships and connected advice across the insurance and finance landscape.

Read our most recent case study in which London Belgravia Brokers was chosen as the latent defects insurance provider for a £50 million mixed-use Sheffield residential development.

The Challenge:
The regional developer was clear that they would prefer not to work with the most recognisable brands in the market having endured a number of negative experiences that ranged from an unwillingness to provide appropriate cover, poor service levels, to onerous technical and manual changes on previous sites.

The Solution:
Senior Broker and industry expert, Daisy Neall, was able to use her experience & knowledge of the market to identify the insurance providers best suited to the project. She was able to obtain a wide range of quotations from insurance providers who were happy to offer terms on the project and not demand wide-reaching and unrealistic technical requirements that would compromise the integrity of the site.

The Result:
Daisy presented a wide range of commercially attractive terms to the client, breaking down the quotes & offering independent advice on which quote would be best suited to this specific project and leadership teams stipulated preferences. It was a collaborative approach in terms of their requirements on-site and the building standard to be met.

Latent Defects Insurance Provider:

From architects to developers to housing associations, we have worked with professionals across the sector who have been involved in the construction of large scale residential and commercial developments, prime & super-prime residential, new build, conversion, and refurbishment projects and helped them secure the most suitable cover for their project, whilst ensuring a smooth process all the way to practical completion and certificate issuance.

We see our role as an independent advisor who reviews the merits of each scheme to help you make well-informed comparisons. Our independence means we are never tied to warranty providers; this ensures that our experts can give you access to the product that best fits your need without market bias. All providers that we work with are recognised by the CML (Council of Mortgage Lenders), backed by A-rated underwriters and we regularly review which warranties meet our standards and the standards of the developers for which we work.
